Every April 22nd is celebrated Earth Day, a date on which to become aware and make decisions to improve our relationship with the planet. That's why it was the day chosen by Aerower to launch Jump for the Jungle! It is the campaign that will allow you to improve the look of your jumpers, while improving the life of some very inspiring animals for everyone, the exotic mammals.

Exotic mammals: inspirational and endangered

Exotic mammals are all those that would not naturally be in a certain territory but end up living far from their natural habitat, usually due to human action. Since its origins, the identity of Aerower and Jumple Academy has been closely linked to all that these mammals suggest. Most of the names and images we create for our products and services are related to the animal kingdom. Without going any further, Jumple comes from the union of JUMP + JUNGLE.

The majesty of felines, the friendliness of marsupials, the agility of primates and the elegance of canids, among others, are admirable qualities that place them among the most inspiring species in the animal world. Unfortunately, however, this same beauty and uniqueness also make them highly endangered species. As we said, exotic mammals are those that are moved out of their habitat, and on many occasions this is done in order to obtain an economic return based on their exploitation.

Several very serious problems arise from this exploitation of exotic mammals. The main ones are:

1.       Animal welfare. Exotic mammals are often forced to live in conditions far from their natural needs, causing them serious problems. In the worst cases, they are mistreated.

2.       Ecosystems and biodiversity. Removing animals from their natural habitat endangers the continuity of species in their place of origin. Furthermore, if these animals escape or are abandoned in a foreign habitat, they endanger the stability of that ecosystem.

3.       Public health and safety. Some exotic mammals can cause serious injury to humans or other animals. Furthermore, zoonoses, i.e. the transmission of diseases from animal to human, are more common with exotic animals.

As lovers of these species, we cannot turn our backs on these realities. Being aware of all these problems is the first step towards improving the situation. The next step is to take action. Fortunately, there are organisations that are fighting to improve the lives of these animals and to put an end to these problems. This is the case of the AAP Foundation.

The AAP Foundation: the heroes of exotic mammals

The AAP Foundation was founded 50 years ago in the Netherlands with the aim of rescuing and caring for exploited primates. Very soon, however, they started to take care of other types of mammals as well. That is why their acronym stands for "Animal Advocacy and Protection". Their goal is both simple and complicated: that exotic animals become "animals" again, i.e. that they can live like animals in their natural habitat and are no longer exploited for human purposes.

To achieve this, they carry out incredible work in two main areas. The first is the rescue and rehabilitation of abused exotic mammals. The second is to fight for the enactment of laws and measures that effectively protect exotic animals. It is an organisation that has grown considerably and now has more than 300 staff and volunteers, working in two big centres: AAP Almere (The Netherlands) and AAP Primadomus (Spain).

Among the most impressive figures of this organisation with half a century of history are the numbers of animals rescued. AAP currently cares for 508 animals and, since 2001, has already rescued 924 illegally trafficked animals.

All their actions are admirable and are constantly being carried out. Among the most recent are the reception of wild animals from the Ukraine, the reception of Barbary macaques that had been victims of poaching and sold illegally in Spain, and important collaborations with European authorities for the creation of animal protection laws.

AAP has a global vocation and therefore cooperates with other institutions, such as similar organisations, governments or research institutes all over the world. Due to its international vocation, AAP is a member of the Species Survival Network (SSN), the Eurogroup for Animals, the European Alliance of Rescue Centres and Sanctuaries (EARS), the Coalition for Animals (Dierencoalitie), the InfoCircus coalition and the Positive Listing Coalition, among many others.

We encourage you to visit their website to learn more about the animals they shelter, their approach, their actions and all their causes.

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate AAP on its 50th anniversary and thank them for their great work. Thank you, AAP!

Aerower's solidarity campaign: Jump for the Jungle covers!

We are sure that all jumpers lovers are also lovers of the animals that inspire us so much. That's why the Jump for the Jungle! campaign is born. Together we can help AAP to continue improving the lives of so many exotic mammals in need. But what exactly does this campaign consist of?

imagen

The Jump for the Jungle! campaign is a fundraising campaign. This type of campaign is carried out by brands to raise funds for a charitable purpose. To raise funds to help AAP and exotic mammals, Aerower has developed a new product in the sector: the covers.

The covers are designed to protect your jumpers during your training sessions and also offer you an extra accessory to make your jumps more motivating. Match them with your outfits! They are elastic covers for your jumpers or bouncing boots adaptable to any size or model, including those of other brands. They are made of 100% elastane and are handmade in Spain. For this reason, they have the Aerower™ Quality seal.

From this accessory that appears for the first time in the world of rebound boots, Aerower has created 4 models for this campaign, gathered under the name of Covers Jump for the Jungle. Each of these covers will be a solidarity cover. Because for every pair of these covers sold, Aerower will donate 6€ to the AAP Foundation, while stocks last. That is to say, the units are limited. So, if you want to collaborate, get yours as soon as possible.
