Rosalía and J Balvin include the Jumper1+ in their Christmas music video

Posted 28 December 2021 by Mateo Gandía Barceló

After several months in which Rosalía and J Balvin have gone completely unnoticed by the public, the two stars have decided to relaunch their careers with a new take on their hit “Con Altura”. The famous music video in which Rosalía and J Balvin appeared on a plane has now been given a new version with an extra element that also lifts us off the ground: Aerower's Jumper1+.

Why are Rosalía and J Balvin singing “Mi burrito sabanero” on jumpers?

The Catalan singer and the Colombian star wanted to take advantage of the Christmas tide and the expansion of exercise with jumpers to give the public the most modern version of the famous carol “Mi burrito sabanero”. This Christmas song of Venezuelan origin has had a huge impact across the whole Spanish-speaking world and it is estimated that it is played about 15 times every hour on the background music of the best supermarket chains.

If we multiply that by the 12 opening hours and the 100 days (give or take a day) that a Christmas campaign lasts nowadays, the cute little donkey plays some 18,000 times in each and every Spanish-speaking supermarket. It is an absolute outrage, indeed.

Aware of how sick of this song people get, but also that its lyrics are truly wonderful, the YouTuber José Peláez (very handsome and modern, and with an enviable eye for what is trendy) decided to make use of a Thursday afternoon he had free to adapt “Mi burrito sabanero” to reggaeton.

Imagine his surprise when he discovered that there was already a song that fitted the lyrics perfectly. “Con altura” is now “Tuki tuki”, and Rosalía and J Balvin embraced the idea wholeheartedly. Have you ever heard that if you like two things separately, you will like them even more together? Well, that is what happened: Christmas song + Reggaeton + Jumpers = guaranteed success. That is three things, yes. But surely, if you like these three things separately, you will like them even more together.

Rosalía said on the subject: “What I like is the extravagant, the eye-catching, and the whole world has already copied my long nails. Aerower's jumpers, so eye-catching and with so many colour possibilities, seemed like a great idea to me.” J Balvin added: “What else, then?” while nodding. Totally normal.

What is the music video like?

Some will dismiss it as nonsense, others will proclaim it revolutionary, but nobody will be left indifferent by this video. Because the video is truly impressive: a Christmas carol sung by two reggaeton artists, animals appearing in the video, a spectacular dance troupe, a Christmas tree and a party worthy of Las Vegas, make-up, costumes, visual effects… No detail is missing.

The entire video was shot on jumpers at Aerower's headquarters in La Nucía, and it is reaping real success among the fans of Rosalía and J Balvin (even some C. Tangana fans have watched it too). But it was not all easy from the very first moment. Carlos Peydró, CEO of Aerower and creator of the Jumper1+, says between jokes, just when the truth peeks out: “These people are a bit full of themselves, there was no way to control them, hehe”.

Everything got out of hand when it was time to put on the jumpers. Apparently jumpers are a super fun thing that takes us back to childhood and makes you want to keep moving all the time, and it doesn't tire you out, and you want to make lots of videos and selfies, and who knows how many other things. Of course, for two millennials who on top of that are music stars, that is a ticking time bomb.

As he put on the Jumper1+, J Balvin said: “Ay, come on, ah ah ah, ah ah ah, how sorry I would be not to have you in my life, my life, mami.” He is a born reggaeton artist. And that was despite putting on jumpers with an unpersonalised RS, which means you don't enjoy the 80% cushioning. Rosalía laughed at him a little, because she was wearing the multibands perfectly adapted.

The fact is that they started jumping and running through the corridors of Aerower's headquarters and there was no way to stop them. Luckily, Carol Pina, Director of Jumple Academy, was there, an expert in teaching points and in reining in students who have got out of control with excitement, and rehearsals were able to begin with only a three-and-a-half-hour delay. All those Jumple tricks, by the way, have been included in the new Jumple Evolution jumper training programme.

Was it necessary?

No, it wasn't necessary, but they did it. Some of the Aerower employees decided to take part in the music video. And truth be told, it is hard to tell them apart from the impressive dance troupe that always accompanies Rosalía and J Balvin.

The employees blended in perfectly and the impressive production did the rest. As a result, in less than 1 minute of video we witness a true display of power and fun. We can say it: J Balvin and Rosalía have done it again. Once more, they have outdone themselves. This is a powerful evolutionary leap in their careers.

Erratum: it is very likely that any information in this article that may seem false is indeed false. After all, it was published on 28 December, Holy Innocents' Day (Spain's April Fools' Day). We hope you enjoyed it!
